After more than six years together, Valentine Smith broke up in early 2000. Since then, lead singer and co-songwriter Bill McGarvey has gone on to release two solo CDs, Tell Your Mother (2003) and Plaid As Hell (2004). Bill is currently finishing up work on a new CD tentatively titled Beautiful Mess.
